I won a trip for 4 to Ottawa to see the Backyardigans and have a Meet & Greet for 2 nights.
One of the people said we got a dinner coupon the other didn't. What??
The cost of the flight, hotel & show are included plus we received a couple books and a DVD.

Wow though, I didn't know it could cost so much to win something.
I don't have a lot of money to play with so this is going to put me in debt a bit.
We have to pay for the transportation to and from the airport & hotel and all of our food and of course anything else while we are there.

They booked us on the cheapest longest flight there is so we won't get there until 10pm at night.
We can't do anything at that time of the night with little kids.
We will be on a plane for 6 hours there and 7 hours back. Ouch.
The shorter flights would only have been 4 1/2 hours.

We have to leave by 11:00 am from the hotel and be at the airport by 2:30 on the Sunday so we hardly have any time to do anything while we are there.

I almost wonder if it's worth it. I guess we will see when we get there.

I guess if I ever win a trip again I will know more about what to expect.

Ryan and I had the same experience in January with the Palm Springs International Film Fest. Knowing now how much it cost us and the trouble it was getting things corrected when we were there, I probably wouldn't have gone........... That being said it does sound like a great family trip if you can cut some of the costs back somehow. Just wanted you to know I've been there:)

Took 2 days but a fashion design kit I really wanted for my daughter but couldn't get in stores I won today from UrbanMoms website....
